Aviat Networks (formerly Harris Stratex) is the world’s largest independent supplier of wireless transmission systems recognized worldwide for cutting-edge; 4G, backhaul, networking solutions and services. Customers in more than 135 countries depend on Aviat Networks to build, expand and upgrade their voice, data, and video solutions.
The Aviat Nigeria SPMS team approached us to design & develop an Interface to provide a setting for monitoring and tracking the movement of spare parts and makes possible the process of receiving and accounting for these spare parts while providing standard reports for the Management, Logistics and Field engineers. The solution was required to enable the SPMS Team members to perform the following functions:
While providing these functions, the Web Interface should also track penalties incurred monetarily in relation to the SLA drawn out with their customer, protects each Team Member by preventing unauthorized access through user-id and password authentication and automatically generate and send periodic(daily, weekly and monthly) performance reports to clients, team member and other company stakeholder in Nigeria and outside the country. The system is also required to provide an internal audit tray to log all activities on the system.
We worked closely with the Aviat Nigeria SPMS team to fully understand their needs and plan the implementation. We then designed a project roadmap, developed, deployed and tested the new intuitively easy-to-use and robust solution which was directly aligned to the team’s daily activities. We carried out user training and also provided support. The implementation ran smoothly with minimal disruption to the team’s day-to-day activities, and was up and running quickly and efficiently.
The project was a great success and helped them achieve excellent results in terms of; it saved human resources time spent on repetitive operational tasks, improve the SPMS team collaboration and productivity, speed up management decision-making, improved information availability, improved service delivery and Service Level agreement performance and has saved the company a lot of costs that would have been incurred due to penalties for defaulting SLA with customers. With the results achieved after the deployment of this solution, this has led to the implementation of the same system for use in the Ghana office
